My name is Madison Purdy, and I am the art teacher for both Brunson Elementary and Ben Hazel Elementary. This is my second year teaching, and I am honored to continue fostering creativity and artistic growth in my students.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Interior Design from Georgia Southern University, where I developed a strong foundation in artistic practice and creative exploration. My goal as an educator is to inspire students to express themselves confidently, think imaginatively, and discover the joy of creating through a variety of artistic mediums.

I look forward to building on the successes of last year and continuing to nurture a vibrant and engaging art program for all of my students.

Faith Smith

Hello! My name is Faith Smith, and I have had the privilege of working in our district for several years. For five years, I taught 3rd and 4th grade before transitioning into my current role as the Media Specialist at Ben Hazel and Brunson Elementary. I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from USC Aiken and my graduate degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. In my role, I combine my love of teaching with my passion for books and technology. My goal is to inspire students to become lifelong learners and readers. I am dedicated to creating a space where curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking are encouraged every day.
I truly believe every child has the potential to succeed when given the right tools and opportunities. I strive to create an environment where students feel safe to explore, ask questions, and develop the skills needed to be independent learners. I aim to foster a love of reading while also building confidence in students so they can become not just strong academically, but also learn to be responsible digital citizens and creative problem-solvers.
